Tips on drawings! Though my experience....
Well, this is actaully only throught my experience, and ya, this is requested by marie(in the chat box) and i know that some of you out there also would want to know my simple experience thought drawings, its very simple, only if you HONTONI(REALLY) want to know how to draw, and have this interest in mind too! That will definately let you draw a good drawing of course :) I'm not so sure whether this tips can improve your drawing skills, but its all based on my experience
tip 1:
Always remember to have a good pencil with you, but actually i always use a simple type of pencil, lol! But seriously, a good pencil can let you draw nicely!
tip 2:
Next, start thinking of what you really want to draw. Just imagine! Anything is okay, and ya to me, i'll always like to imagine on some very nice type of image, of course on an anime, with powers and beauty or sometimes mysterious anime characters! This is call using your own memoery to draw, not visual art of course. Try not to draw things that are too complicated first becuz it will be abit hard when it comes to drawing it out. Try to add more creation if possible to your drawing while you are drawing too
tip 3:
If you have thought of a pic you want to draw(usually i really take very long to think, lol! Maybe even one whole day!) then take out a blank sheet of paper that you think it will help in your drawing in a way that is comfortable for you to draw. To me, i'll usually use a book instead of a clean sheet of paper or sometimes even use a used paper. Reason being is that i don't really like to do anything to a clean sheet of paper! Its toooo clean! So i rather use a book, lol! Usually i perfer some scibbers in the blank paper first, then i'll draw an anime character, i dono why but i'll draw better on it. Strange rite...?
tip 4:
Okay, i know that it doesn't take much to choose a paper, but that seems to be ABIT important to me, lol! Okay, so now you should have your pencil, and a paper, and ya, one VERY important thing you'll also need is you ERASER! i must have my earser in order to draw(besides having to draw really stupid things on a paper, haha!) So you have at least three things to draw, next comes the hardest part, DRAWING! My favourite part too, lol! When it comes to drawing, for those who juz started to draw, i think you should draw SLOWLY first, and always remember what you want to draw! Based on my experiences, by improving drawing skills, i'll allways keep watching anime, and ya, besides enjoying the anime show, i'll also also also take not of the charcter, the way they are drawn. By this way, i'll learned to draw. I don't go for art class(becuz my cousin says that art class are juz lousy, lol! I dono how lousy they are anyway), and the only way i learn to draw is by watching anime and copying some of it. What i mean by copying is to copy the anime character, ANY anime character will do(i usually choose allen walker in d gray man) either by looking and drawing, or by tracing paper. Well, i choose to copy by looking and drawing it, and this is one of the lastest anime character i copied long ago

By copying, i can study the drawing better and in details too, and this can really really help in your drawing skills. Its like drawing what the original artiest had drawn! lol! I copied more then 30 types of anime characters and ya, i can really see the difference between the once i drew long long time ago and the once i drew lately. I started copying in 2007 if i'm not wrong, and i stoped copying this year becuz it really affect my eye sight when looking at my bro's ipod, and drawing the character out. This was the FIRST copied anime character i copied in 2007, lol, weird rite?
So ya, i think that copying anme charcter can improve your skills too! So coming back to drawing what you want to draw, i suggest that you draw the side of the face first, then the eyes and the nose and the mouth, and the front part of the hair on the forehead. Mostly artist draw the nose first then the eyes and the mouth. By drawing the nose first, you'll actually know where you want to draw the eyes, and where the anime character is looking, or facing. If you happen to not know how to drawing the eyes or the mouth, i'll say that you should observe more anime characters. Its like that, i relised that if an artiest doesnt know how to draw something, he would juz go and copy an image and somewhat like transfer it in his own master piece, that was what i did too. I remember once when i don't really know how to draw the character's hand, i asked my cousin to stick out her hand to the way i want to draw, and she said it was stupid, but then does that mean that the people who sat on the chair and pose to let the artist draw is more stupid? Cannot be rite? So conclusion! Copy what you really don't know how to draw(e.g the eyes or hands) My weakness in drawing is the hands, i cannot really draw the hands properly, its kinda hand to draw it, but in the end i'll still hane to draw it nicely, lol!
Tip 5:
It maybe hard to draw, BUT! As long as there is experience, i'm sure that you can improve as long as you draw more, and in chinese, we call it "shu neng shen zhao" "Practise makes perfect". I've drawn anime characters for about.... 3 years? I'm not sure actually, but should be around 3 years or so. I've always loved drawing since i was very young around 5. When i draw anime characters, i'll sometimes switch on some music and draw while listening it. Well, the music are actually jap becuz i like jap songs alot. Listening to music sometimes give you more ideas to drawing if you really don't have any idea what to draw. I had about 5-7 books filled with drawings of anime, and sometimes i really really really have NO idea on what to draw! So one way is to listen to any music. When listening to music, the emotion of the music can make you think of anything depending on the emotion of it of course. Like example, when the music go so sad, you'll imagine something that is sad to you, then slowly you'll have ideas of what to draw, that is throught my experience again, and i'm not sure whether this can help you to geting more ideas to draw.
So i hope that some of my tips can help you to improve your drawing skills. If you have any different types tips, maybe you can also share it with me? Well, i hope you have a fun time drawing! Happy drawing!
